Young Person’s Competition: Where the Magic Lives by Macy Sheffield
September 27, 2024
Sometimes it makes me wonder
Where magic goes for a wander
Is it as simple as fairies in the sand?
Or elves in a winter wonderland?
Hmm to be a fairy just imagine
To settle into a forest cabin
To practise doing a magic spell
To make appear a grand hotel.
Do they bathe in the morning dew?
And gaze away at the sunset view,
To magic up some magnificent castles,
To hide away from evil rascals.
Could they use magic to build a skyscraper?
Or could pixies make houses of paper?
Rest assured that nothing tragic
Will ever happen to the magic.
And I’ve known from the start
The real magic is in your heart.
