2026 CHARLES CAUSLEY INTERNATIONAL POETRY COMPETITION – 3RD PLACE

May 16, 2026

3RD PLACE - Anna Robinson with 'To my parents, who didn't know'

We are beyond excited to share with you the selected poems from our international competition this year.

This year’s theme was Family and our podium and highly commended perfectly reflect the multitude and range of memories, emotions and situations associated with relatives and/or those we consider kin.

Starting today, we’ll be featuring one poem each day, along with a spotlight on its author. Follow along.

Poet Bio

Anna is a writer and theatre-maker. Day to day she writes poems and wrangles puppets, whilst spending summers touring an immersive caravan and pop up theatre show to festivals with her theatre company, Dirty Feet. She is part of the Roundhouse Poetry Collective 25/26 and was shortlisted for the Mslexia Poetry Competition 2025. Anna spends much of her writing time alone but enjoys collaboration, whether that’s working with others to produce something, or developing an idea by talking out loud to her family dog.
