Now that the 2020 Digital Causley Festival of Arts & Literature has come to an end, perhaps you might like to watch again, or (for a limited period) view for the first time many of the events aired over the three days?
We’ve collated some of the most popular events below. But feel free to browse (or even subscribe) to our YouTube channel to see all the events, and our new monthly content championing Charles Causley and ‘all things poetry’.
A collection of Causley poems and new stories, performed by The Story Republic
Normally delighting audiences at feasts and festivals, the ever-resourceful Story Republic have risen to the lockdown challenge set by us to create and share poems and stories in ingenious ways.
Delighted to be a part of The Causley Festival, The Story Republic created a programme of much- loved poems by our inspiration Charles Causley (some set to music by Rick Williams), as well as fresh stories inspired by Causley or Launceston.
There’s a strong flavour of the sea, and the town where Charles spent most of his life. All of it is filled with moments of memory, laughter and pathos, highlighting Causley’s wonderful way with words and deep sense of place.
Performers Connie Crosby, Nina Hills and Keith Sparrow will delight and entertain in equal measure, and the bonus stories are by Anna Maria Murphy and Amanda Harris.
