We’re delighted to announce a new creative partnership that weaves together poetry, art and community. This winter, we commissioned Cornwall-based textile artist Olga Owczarek to create a large handwoven tapestry inspired by the poetry of Charles Causley and his profound connection to the local landscape. The designs are drawn from Olga’s residency at Causley’s home, Cyprus Well, this January and have been woven into being at her studio in Redruth over the past few months.
We are excited to share our finished tapestry commission with you. It is titled After Causley, and took four months to create. This photograph shows the piece before it came off the loom.

Artist Olga Owczarek has created a superb design that reflects time spent at Causley’s cottage, Cyprus Well.
You can read Trustee Annie Friedlein’s interview with Olga here. It explains how the beginnings of the design were inspired by the impact of Storm Goretti on the street outside Cyprus Well, in January 2026.
The tapestry has since been hemmed and strung for display. It went on sale at our Poetry Festival in Launceston to help fund library books and literacy workshops for local schools.
If you would like to buy the tapestry, please contact us info@causleytrust.org.
More details about her practice are available on Orla’s website: https://texturetapestries.com/about/.
