The Maker The Charles Causley Literary Blog
Calling all writers! Check out The Maker’s Call for Content for May
We have some exciting news! Our online literary blog, The Maker, is searching for new creative writing pieces for our May publication month!
Back in the Autumn of 2021, the Charles Causley Trust set up its first ever creative writing blog called The Maker. Through monthly publication weeks, the blog published pieces of literature written by students in the South West that responded to a given theme.
The theme for May’s publication month will be … Untold Love Stories. This is inspired by Patrick Gale’s exceptional new novel Mother’s Boy, which details the beautiful and unique connection of Charles Causley and his mother, that we celebrated a few weeks ago at our launch weekend of events in Launceston, Charles’ hometown. We are looking to read your poetry and short fiction about the love stories which do not receive the same attention as romantic love, but are just as special. Whether it be the love between siblings, between grandparents and their grandchildren, or simply the love between best friends, we will be thrilled to read your creative takes on those untold love stories.
Click the link below to view our Call for Content document which details our submission guidelines and how to submit. All submissions should be emailed to themaker@causleytrust.org
The deadline for entries is the 9th of May 2022. We look forward to reading your submissions!
