Memories of an Orange Tree by Charlie Harrison-Chu
June 14, 2023
I remember being a seed,
A small hard waterdrop shape,
Put in some soil, buried, and watered,
And put into greenhouse
I remember my first shoots
And my roots deep down
Sucking water up to my shoots
To help my trunk grow strong
I remember my first oranges
all green, round and small
Slowly ripening into perfect
juicy oranges.
