We are absolutely delighted to welcome you to our ever-evolving festival, and this year we are excited to be able to present a hybrid digital and physical programme.
There is plenty on offer for those who are celebrating the return to live and physical events, as well as a fantastic and packed programme of digital content for you to enjoy wherever you are in the world.
Last year, with the help of a dedicated team of festival volunteers, the staff at Causley Towers went on a very steep learning curve to navigate their way through the very 21st century conundrum of how to deliver a festival during a pandemic. The 2020 Causley Festival was entirely digital, and we are excited to be able to utilise all the knowledge and skills acquired from the experience to bring you our first hybrid festival.
So, if you want to participate online there is lots on offer; from contemporary theatre and spoken word performances, to writing and drawing workshops. Explore the life and works of Charles Causley with a delve through the Exeter archive, or virtually attend talks exploring themes and forms of Causley’s work. The digital sphere offers you poetry performances, a chance to have a virtual guided tour of the town and even a Socialist Magic Show!
For those looking to visit Launceston we have a full programme of socially distanced, real, live, actual in-person events!
So, if you’ve been yearning for live theatre then we have a performance from Miracle Theatre in Launceston Castle Grounds, or for live poetry make sure you pop down to Poetry in Ruins, if you long to get involved, make, see and be inspired again then drop into the Makers Market in the Town Hall, or if you want to introduce yourself or your family to the world of classical music we are delighted to add Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra to this year’s festival.
The Festival is grateful to Launceston Town Council, Carn to Cove, Cornwall Council, Cornwall Council Community Chest, ACE, Kernow Education Arts Partnership and Cultivator, University of Exeter, Plymouth University English Heritage, all who donated to our Crowdfund campaign and our ever amazing volunteers!
Please share this brochure via your digital networks, keep up to date with our festival and any changes via our festival page on our website, and follow us on social media.
