Karen Howse

Karen moved to Cornwall in 1993 where she and her family now live. She grew up in the South East, completing a Degree in Textile Design at Winchester School of Art.
While studying for an MA in Fine Art at Falmouth University, her art practice became about the process of walking and drawing in one forest. Karen was interested in the ways drawing affected her experience of place and self. On completing the MA she has shared this beneficial way of working with others.
She has enjoyed collaborations with Artists, Dancers, and Psychologists. In 2012 she co-led a ‘Soundmark Tour’ of Appledore for the Visual Arts Festival. In 2017 she collaborated on ‘Moments to See’, a mindful drawing workshop and exhibit with Professor Duncan Moss at Plymouth University.
Karen has exhibited her art work near and far, and made poetic art interventions on the streets of her home town, with the Swanskin Printmakers as part of Launceston’s annual Charles Causley Festival of Literature and the Arts.
