We are thrilled to announce some upcoming events with our 2023 Writer in Residence Rachel Piercey.
Digital poetry workshop, Zoom, Wednesday 15th March from 6.30-9.30pm
In this workshop, you will explore a couple of Charles Causley’s poems in-depth and be inspired to write new poems in response. You will delve into what makes a Causley poem so distinctive and find our own ways of singing along with his idiosyncratic blend of music, warmth, and deep enquiry into the resonant strangeness of the world.
All poets are welcome, whatever stage of their writing journey. And in the spirit of Causley, who never set out to write with a particular age of audience in mind, the workshops are open to poets who write for adults and poets who write for children. The two are often considered separately but there is so much crossover and so much to learn from each other’s art forms.
