Make this summer your summer of literature …

April 25, 2022

Our dear readers,

You might have noticed we’ve been a little quiet this past month. Our blog has been a little less active and our social media accounts concerned with the other wonderful events and opportunities busying the Trust and its patrons. The truth is not that we’ve been distracted by the release of the new season of Bridgerton… though that sexually tense game of Pall Mall did knock us for six. Nor are we experiencing a drought in literary activity from our keen creatives; quite the opposite—the ingenuity of writers of the South West is brimming, ready to explode.

The truth of it is that we have been squirreled away behind our desks, cogs turning, pens avidly scratching at paper, in preparation for big things. We are readying ourselves for our Summer of Literature, which will be a publishing extravaganza. For the duration of June, July and August, The Maker will be publishing brand new Flash Fiction, poetry, film reviews, reports from The Charles Causley Literary Festival, artwork, and more.

So now the only question is… are you ready?

Sincerely hoping you are,

Lauren and Kate, editors of The Maker.

Be sure to follow us @causleytrust on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter for our latest Maker updates.
