Become a Trustee of The Causley Trust

The Charles Causley Trust has volunteer role opportunities for individuals who wish to make a board level contribution, helping to shape our development at an important time for our organisation.

We are looking to appoint three Trustees, including a Chairperson and a Secretary.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about poetry and literature, community arts and development, and providing creative opportunities for children and young people. We’re also looking for individuals who can bring diverse perspectives to our Board. We are particularly seeking candidates with experience in the following areas:

  • Arts and Heritage Sector Finance and Funding;
  • Charity Development and Philanthropic Giving;
  • Governance and Leadership;
  • Community Engagement and Development.

Vacancy: Trustee x 3

Roles: Chairperson, Secretary, Board Member

Duration: 1 term to 2 terms (3 to 6 years)

Salary: Voluntary and unremunerated (reasonable expenses are reimbursed)

Voluntary placements with us

We are open to volunteers throughout the year to help support our events management, annual festival, marketing, digital content development, administrative work and more. The duration of volunteer placements and working format (in person or digitally) can be flexible and something that can be discussed with the Causley team when getting in touch with us.

Events Management

Join our team as a volunteer and support the organisation of our events. Gain experience in contacting venues, creating bookings, organising refreshments, venue decoration and liaising with writers and artists.

Creative writing/ The Maker

Looking for a space to develop your creative writing? Join our team as a volunteer and submit work to our online literary blog, The Maker. This includes articles as well as creative writing – poetry or prose.

Community Outreach:

Are you a local, or close to, Launceston? Join our team as a volunteer and support our community activity, boosting awareness of the Trust within town and widening its impact.

Marketing and growing our network

Are you interested in marketing? Join our team as a volunteer and help develop the marketing and social media campaigns that promote the Causley Trust’s events, programmes and projects.
