Dawn
by Maya Pal
In the early morning
Endless broken frost awakes
An unconquerable kingdom.
With buried treasures hidden amongst
Fine frosty hairs
That turns gold
On the light of the sun.
Crowned with icy needles
Covered in frozen tears.
The frost’s breathtaking
Summoning dragon puffs from the depths of my soul
Bringing back secrets inside myself.
All the treasures I ever buried in my brain
They all come to light
As the dawn breaks in Peace.
A Life That’s Mine
by Clara Atkins
I want to explore
Beyond the trees,
Beyond the moors,
Beyond everyone slamming doors.
Behind my face,
Behind my eyes,
A brand new self lies.
Under my skin, a different life lies within.
One of adventure, one of pride,
It comes closer with every stride.
