Celebrating Charles Causley’s Birthday
August 24, 2025
On this day in 1917, a true poet of the people was born. He who gave voice to the sea, the nostalgia of childhood, the hauntings of war, and the many mysteries and wonders of life.
Today, on what would’ve been Charles’s 108th birthday, we celebrate not only the years he was with us, but the timelessness of his poetry, rooted deeply in Cornish soil but resonating far beyond it.
